K, so I accidentally left my phone outside and it rained.but not very hard. I was hoping that the phone was OK.
It turns out that it powered off but the touch keypad lights stayed on, and as far as I can tell, indefinantly.
So I then plugged it in to the charger after first having tried to dry it out as much as possible with canned air.
No charging screen came up
I then proceeded to turn it on, and it got to the end of the cinematic screen, and then went to the powering off movie, and powered off, leaving the touch lights on.
I understand that this might not be able to be fixed, and I have insurance on the phone, but I was hoping that there would be a way to save the contacts/games/pictures still on the phones memory.
I would appreciate any help that I can get on the problem, thanks.

It is a slight possibility that the techs at the VZW store can retrieve the contacts, but it will cost $10 or $15, and it is certainly not guaranteed that they can.
When you get your replacment, you should download Backup Assistant aka BUA from GetItNow. it's in "tools on the go" and then go to "top sellers". this application backs your contacts up for you daily and keeps a copy online @ our website under MyAccount. If your phone is lost, damaged, or stolen you've got a backup copy online. THEN THE COOLEST PART, when you activate your replacement phone, download BUA and it moves all your contacts over to the phone AUTOMATICALLY. I absolutely swear by it, because I am a disaster with phones and if I lost my contacts every time. let's just say I wouldn't be the socialite I am today!
Keep your pix in your online photo album at vzwpix.com. you have 75 slots free. You can send out pix messages from here that won't bill your account. Of course these are all preventative measures that will help you in the future.
In the meantime, maybe you can scrape together a few numbers online from your phone log and figure out who those recent callers are. You'll have records going back 6 mos really.
From one phone-homicidal offender to the other, I hope this helps.

If your phone has gotten wet via rain, dropped in water. recovery is dependent on whether or not there is electrical damage due to shorting out the circuitry from the battery. Best if the phone was shut off when it got wet, but not a guaranty as power can be shorted directly from the circuit traces connected to the battery.
Step A- remove the battery to reduce the risk of further damage.
Step B- Remove phone cover, such as a custom snap-on skin, if easy to do. Shake out as much water as possible through the additional openings exposed by removing the battery and cover. Be careful not to hit the phone against anything.
Step C- Place phone in a cool oven (set to 100F to 120F, check the temperature with an oven thermometer.don't want to get the plastic parts of the phone too hot) or other warm, dry place. The idea is to gently evaporate any remaining water out of the phone. Wait a few hours. If there is condensation behind the display window return the phone to the warm place and wait a few hours more.
Step D- Reinstall the battery and turn on the phone. If anything looks abnormal as the phone powers up immediately remove the battery and repeat steps C and D. If the phone performs normally, reinstall any covers that were removed. Keep an eye out for any abnormal behavior as remaining water droplets may move around and short out the circuitry again. If so, repeat step C and D. If you have repeated step Cand D three or four times and the phone behaves the same as the first time you reached step D the phone circuitry was probably electrically damaged by the water shorting out some components when it first got wet.
