Hello there. I believe I can help answer your questions.

Is there any way for me to put my mp3's as ringtones without paying for internet access?
Yes. If you are using a laptop that has Bluetooth capability, you can pair your laptop and SGH-A707 via Bluetooth, and execute a file transfer. If you do not have Bluetooth on a laptop, you can buy a Blueooth USB Adapter and plug it up to your desktop or laptop.
I do this all the time with my own homemade ringtones. If you want more information on sending files through Bluetooth, I can write up an in-depth tutorial. Also, if you have any other questions about the Samsung SGH-A707, let me know.
Hi
You seem to know a lot about this subject.I'm I correct in assuming you can do the same with a standard USB cable from PC to the A707 and if so.how? A step by step proceedure would be very helpful.
Thanks!

I've been having a lot of trouble trying to send files to my phone via the bluetooth connection. I can get the phone to sync up to my computer and excange passcodes, the computer and phone seem to be connected fine but when I try to send a file to the phone I get an error saying "An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used"
I've tried everything I could think of, but no luck.
