does anyone know if or when AT&T is going to increase their 3g speeds to compete with verizon and sprint's 1.5mbps+ speeds. I know they made some of their 3g phones hsdpa compatible which brings them up to 600kbps+. thanks

Actually Rev. A isn't out yet, they're planning it, and EVDO is the same speed as UMTS (1. with realtime speeds at 400-700kbps,
EVDO=UMTS
EVDO REV A=HSDPA (3.6) with real speeds around a meg and a half, and yes ATT is planning on rolling it out next year.

Yeah, HSDPA is pretty much the same thing or faster than EVDO Rev A.

Quoted Speed rates are the same, but GSM>CDMA for one reason, you can change your phone anytime you want without talking to your carrier.
