So I've read that if you set-up your account online and Cingular does not have a signed contract from you, you can call Cingular and they will change your 2 year contract to a 1 year contract.is this true? Has anyone successfully done this?
Thanks![/b]

When you agree to the contract using the IVR system (which is how contracts are done for online orders) you are giving your "signature". It is legal and binding.

what it boils down to is how much you paid for the phone. if you got 2 yr pricing.you are held to a 2 yr contract.during your activation you would have to agree to the 2 yr contract verbally.

And to add to this. The only option on the website is 2 year contracts.

cingular and at&t are the same company, just a different name now.
They haven't breached the contract, so no you can't get out because they changed their name.

They should have kept the name Cingular. "The new at&t" is lame. Not to mention, as soon as my contract is up, I am out. Fewest dropped calls my a$$! I wonder, are they still using that catch phrase? If they have the fewest dropped calls, no one else is getting any communicating done. Its a running joke in my area. I changed from nextel because of price, but at least it worked just about everywhere.

If you are saying Nextel has better coverage than Cingular, you are CRAZY
