I am seeking a phone for now. I would like it to have 3G or maybe something even faster, also it must have GPS for google maps. Thanks.

the iphone afaik is an edge device.ergo not 3g capable

Edge, and No GPS, it has google maps, but not GPS built in, although im sure it will be capable of BT recievers.

THe iphone is only gprs/edge compatable at this time from what i am understanding apple is supposed to be working on a 3g/umts device

Even If The IPhone Is Made 3G ATT Wireless's Network Is Mostly 2.5G. A Phone is only as good as it's network.
