I successfully flashed my phone. I had to switch off the phone and remove the battery, i connected the phone using the supplied usb cable, started "the software" the lights on the front were flashing intermittently, i pressed the "*" key and a download menu appeared and the phone software updated. could you tell me if there is a difference between Rsrc2_U700(Low).rc2 & Rsrc2_U700(Mid).rc2 flash files? cheers

Thanks for the firmware links!

I have a few questions regarding this process though.

I've recently activated both passport (for cheaper calls abroad) and MMS messaging on my vodaphone account/U700. After the firmware update, will these need to be reactivated again?

Also, could anyone run me through the specifics of the U700XXGF2 update. What extra features/options are there, are any usability issues with the Vodaphone firmware solved now?

I got my U700 yesterday and I must say I'm quite happy with it.
Right now I am using Firmware version U700-CE-GG-2 or U700CEGG2 for clarity's sake.

If I understood correctly this means I'm using:
U700(hey, that's probably because my model is a U700 icon_lol.gif )
CE - which is.EXPLAINED NOWHERE! it contains a LOT of languages though
GG - July 2007 ?
2 - Rev 2?

Does anyone know what the CE stands for and if there is yet another update available? According to Samsung official support, thay wont give out firmwares and they say that Samsung service points can only do free upgrades when your phone malfunctions.

Anyway, the languages:
English, Deutsch, Français, Italiano, Nederlands, Español, ελληνικά, Português, Svenska, Türkçe, Norsk, Polski, Suomi, Dansk, Magyar, čeština, slovenščina, Hvratski.

Or:

English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Greek, Portugese, Swedish, Turkish, Norwegian, Polish, Finnish, Danish, Hungarian, Czech, Slovenian, Croatian.

18 languages in total.

Thanks for the firmware links!

I downloaded the flash file 'U700XXGF2' and the fastmultiloader. Everything seemed to be going fine.

But when im trying to boot the files it comes up with the error 'Can Not Load Bootfiles Binary!'

This is within the fastmultiloader program!

The relevant files for Modem, Rsrc. seem to be working fine.

I am completely new to this and I despise the current vodafone interface. If i am not able to succesfully flash it I will be forced to return the phone.

Oh and sometimes when im trying to run the fastmultiloader program it comes up with an error such as 'this exe file cannot run in win32'

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I am trying to use the flash method for my new U700 phone but when I launch fastmultiloader it does not show any port in the below boxes however when I am having battery and Sim in the phone then it shows port where the phone is plugged in. Not sure what to do .I want to flash this phone with Samsung original firmware. This phone was brought with an O2 contract in Germany and need to get rid of the O2 features in firmware. Also I want to customize the touchpad keys which is not possible in O2 provided software.

Please help how to search for the port.!

Cheers
Leo
