Hi all,
with the upcoming release of the U700 phone (this Friday [29th June] according to Vodafone though it keeps getting delayed!), i would like to obtain the latest standard samsung firmware for this device preferably, this would be the following formatted file:
U700XXGF
essentially, i would like the "XX" for western europe (particularly the UK), but i am in the UK and will be with vodafone, so if there is a limited choice, one that works on this setup would be great.
does anyone have this? are these available yet? as far as i know, this phone has been released in germany for some time now, so would hope some files are around.

is that the original non vodafone firmware m8?
if so I dont suppose you could jot down an idiots guide as to what cable is required, and a step by step of how to flash the original firmware onto a u700v

I and quite a few others from another forum have successfully used your files to reflash out U700v's to LOSE THE 'V'

IWANTBLUE, how did you reflash out the "V"? Is there a "How to.?".
I would like to acheive the same but do not know where to start!
BTW what state was the U700 in after?
Was uPlus, UTrack there after, also what about your 3G, email, Internet settings from "VF" were they still there?

nothing seems broken, and finding new stuff all the time. still! so much better than vodafone firmware!

I've downloaded the u700 flasher & the firmware can the phone be flashed with a usb cable? if not where can i buy a serial 9volt version. i have always had problems with usb flashing cheers.

jingo_man, I did it!
Followed your quick guide and took a chance and it paid off!
The original SAMSUNG firmware is miles better than the VF stuff. Only thing I would add is that anyone re-flashing should make a note of all settings (Internet, Email, SMS, MMS etc) BEFORE re-flashing as the process wipes ALL of these.
I also found that GOOGLE MAPS will not work anymore!

arkimedi!, the USB cable works just fine as it keeps the phone charging, so there is no need for a serial 9v cable.
