Hello,
I have a Samsung V200 atm and i'm thinking of selling the V200 and to buy a T610.. .. now i just want to know if thats agood thing to do. I know what good sides the V200 have and what bad sides it has.
Now i want to know what good sides the T610 has and what bad ones. Please help me with this!
Also some questions. Are the games any fun to play on the T610? Do you see the pixles on the screen like you did on the T68?
Please answer... Felix Lindstrom

Umm.. imposting in swedish here. i could transelate it maybe.. But not now..
4000-5500 SEK.. Jahopp hoppas att det hjälpte..

I really love my T610, all its faults considered.
Just so nobody thinks I'm biased, here are the BAD points.
1. 2MB non-expandable memory. So you have to be very choiceful on what pictures and ringtones etc. you want to keep on your phone and which to store on your PC.
2. The camera is crap. Grainy in anything less than perfect lighting, and it only takes pictures in MMS resolution, not the standard 640x480 VGA you see in Nokias.
3. The screen absolutely washes out in direct sunlight. You can't see a thing, unless you cast a shadow on it with your hand or something. And even then you can justbarely make out silouettes.
4. The screen smudges like anything. Of course, it comes with one of those Oakley-like micro-fiber cloths to wipe it clean, but you'll be using it A LOT.
5. When the phone rings, it always fades in rather than playing at full blast at once. This is a non-editable thing.
6. No *.wav/*.mp3 playback as ringtones.
And now for the GOOD points.
1. Fabulous 65,000 color screen. By comparison, all the CURRENT Nokias are still running on 4,096 colors. Plus, the screen is larger at 160x128, compared to the 128x128 dimensions of most Nokias. Btw, no, you don't see pixellation like on the T68i. This screen is a generation ahead of anything but the higher-end Samsungs.
2. Gorgeous 32-voice polyphonic midi ringtones. It sounds like a full orchestra, seriously. Definitely beats the sad 4-voice playback of most Nokias.
3. Excellent workmanship - everything feels so SOLID. It certainly doesn't feel like a block of cheap plastic, which is the feeling I personally got from the N7250i.
4. The usual excellent Bluetooth/iRDA wireless access you expect from a phone in this price bracket. I think Nokia screwed up by not putting BT into its otherwise cool 7250.
That's all that really comes to mind right now. But I'm sure if you ask around you'll get more of the techie details I'm not really into.

ok ... so it only has 32-voice polyphonic midi ringtones... doesn't it support .mmf? my samsung has 40-voice polyphonic.. ... hmmm ... but i'm still thinking strongly on seeling it as the V200 dont have java and this is a big down on that phone. I like the design of it though.. But then .. i like the clean design of the T610 to... hmmmm...
Ok theese questions will deside if i'm gona buy it! :
1. Is it easy to send things between the phone and my computer.
2. What is best to use; Bluetooth or IR.
3. Can you flash your phone (upgrade your phone via the computer) yourself or do you have to turn it in to a Sony Ericsson shop?
:: and Zinax :::
Very much thanx for the help!!!

All the V200 CAN do is take half decent pictures.
The -ve points of the T610 are, in my opinion few.
1.Yes, low memory but as long as you delete all the crap that comes with it, this isn't really an issue. Any good photos I take I transfer to PC and delete them off the phone.
2.Battery life, the battery is truly awful. I found out from the Sony Ericsson rep who came to work that it is because the backlight counts as talk time. But if you're used to a Samsung then this isnt an issue either.
3.The dirtiness of screen, i've about worn out my cloth, so I've cleaned it properly and put the phone in a leather case. It'll stop it getting scratched.
4.There is some slowdown on the menus, it isn't anywhere near as fast as a Nokia.
+VE points
1.Excellent quality screen, best I've seen.
2.Ringtones, although only being 32 bit seem to sound a lot better than the Samsung ones, only thing that's missing is real voice
3.Morphun games, they kick ass.
4.POP3 Email compatibility. Sony/Ericsson are the only manufacturers to have made this a standard.
5.Voice activation. Which other phone lets you say a phrase to activate voice dialling???
6.Ease of use, the menus although slow are intuitive and make a lot more sense than a Nokia.
7.Accessories, loads of them, some of them fun others useful. Think bluetooth car and the blue torch. Pointless but unique.
8.Easiest phone around to connect to pc, and the only one that lets you actually SEND stuff from the phone. Nokias and Samsung require you to search for the stuff off a pc. Sony let you send stuff to free to any phone with bluetooth or infrared.
The list goes on....

As stated, it's incredibly easy to transfer files to and from the phone and your PC (so long as you aren't using the horrible USB cable). I use infrared myself, and my only complaint is how I have to leave the phone static on the table to make sure that I don't break the link between the two IR ports.
If you can spare the money though, I'd tell you to go Bluetooth all the way!
And, in defense of the battery life, I get 2.5 days on normal use (maybe 20 minutes of calls, 15 SMS messages sent, 5-10 pictures, 10 minutes Bluetooth/infrared). That's about the same life I got on my old N7110 and N6510 so I don't complain.

I forgot to mention an especially cool feature: the "magic word".
Whereas most phones with voice control require you to hold in a button for a couple of seconds to input a voice command, when using one of those handsfree kits all you have to do is mention an unusual word of your choice (i.e. supercalifragilisticexpialidocious) and the T610 automatically activates voice control. From there, you say the name of your contact, then what number you want to dial (i.e. home, mobile, office, etc). Incredibly cool feature!
