Okay, I am leaving Sprint at the end of this month, so I called Verizon to start service. I am confused about a few things though. I picked out a phone that said online discount, but the woman told me it was a MIR, and that the website reflects that MIR as a online discount. So is it an actual online discount because it seems to me that I am paying full price of the phone.
LG VX8300
Bluetooth
Chaperone Capable
Mobile Web 2.0
V CAST Music
VZ Navigator
Video Messaging
2-yr contract price $99.99
Online discount - 50.00
Your price $49.99
So which amount am I paying, the 99.99 or the 49.99 ?
Also, I was looking at two different phones that they have to offer, which one is the above phone, and I am also looking at the Samsung SCH-u740.
Which is the better phone? I was looking for a phone that has a good camera, MP3 ringtone capable, bluetooth is a must, and great speaker quality.

The online price is an instant discount, that is the main benefit of the online transaction. I personally do not think LG phones are as sturdy as the Samsung models so I would go w/ the u740 - that is what I have.

I would suggest if ur just going t start srvc ordering ur phone online. No hassle about the $50 mir which can take up to 8 weeks to get back, in addition some of the time they have a promotion that will waive ur activation fee which is normally $35 on a primary line or $25 on a secondary line. Also check for employee discounts while u activate service. That would give u a discounted price off of the phone most of the time also and give u free activation on all of your lines.
After the mail in rebate it will cost you $0 dollars.

Samsung u740 has a dual hinge meaning it can either open vertically or horizontally, it has a ful QWERTY keyboard, and uses numbers written on the keys for vertical use. The VX8300 is a great phone too, with everything the U740 has, except the QWERTY keyboard. I have the Samsung A930 not sure if VZW sells it anymore, but if they do, its a great phone, worked for me, and i mainly txt, call, vcast, or VZnavigator and like i said its been dependable.
