Hi,
I am a current customer of T-Mobile and have a MDA phone, which has wi-fi capability.
Can T-Mobile enable this @Home service on my phone, since it has the wi-fi capability and is a high-end phone. I already have a Linksys wireless router at my house.
Any response appreciated.
Thanks.

You need a phone with uma technology in order to use @home. Think of uma as an addon to wifi, so not only do you need wifi, you need UMA also in order to get the call to route over the wifi signal.

It would be even nicer for T-Mobile, to enable their cell phones to be used like VOIP phones (similar to Vonage), as long the phone has wi-fi capability.it can connect to their VOIP infrastructure and keep going, rather than UMA.
This way T-Mobile will be a pioneer in playing the cell phone + VOIP markets.
Hopefully some T-Mo exec gets to read this idea!

I work at T-Mobile and can tell you that if you wanted to go with the @home service it is definitely worth it since the phones are actually decently priced.alot less than you mda.also if you dont have a router they are also inexspensive.no if you purchase the additional feature for 9.99(single lines) 19.99 (family plans) you get unlimited calling at home and what i thought was pretty cool was that if you start a call at home you can stay on that call for 10 hours after you've left the house and it will still be free.now once you hang up then you reregister on the closest tower.when you think about it, it will really help people out because they can get rid of their landline companies because you can get unlimited calling at home for at the most 20 dollars and that is definitely a lot cheaper than any landline company i know of.and if you are looking for the best customer service, T-Mobile is the place to go.Plus you cant beat the prices for our rp.we definitely are a lot better for the money.

That's funny you would say T-Mobile has great customer service. My one experience with them is that both at the 1-800# and Corporate store, I was told although they reported issues to customer service.they personally were not customer service. How do you get to actually talk with someone from Customer Service?

Dial 61 from your phone. I think that there may be a sub department under customer service that deals with suggestions. That may be what the 1800# and a store told you.

Customer Service at T-Mobile?
Lets not fool ourselves. They spell Customer Service " Send in your payment and then do not bother us"
Today their wonderful little reperesentitive (sp?) sais she was all the customer service I needed. She didnt even ask for a phone number, what kind of phone I had or anything.
She wasn't rude just absolutely useless.

They don't always need to ask for that information, especially if you called in. You created your own rant thread and then posted in a number of other threads. How about you keep your rants in your own thread so the rest of us here can provide help and assistance to other people.
