On June 29th at 6pm, customers can go to AT&T company owned retail stores, Apple retail stores, and Apple Online to purchase iPhone. The cost for purchasing iPhone is $499 for 4GB or $599 for 8GB.
• No discounts are available on the device or accessories; this includes equipment upgrades for customers.
• Existing customers purchase iPhone at full retail price
• IRU customers purchase iPhone at full retail price. Monthly discounts cannot be applied to an iPhone line of service.
• iPhone is not available to have on an Employee Rate Plan (ERP).
New customers require a 2-year service agreement. Existing AT&T wireless customers require a renewed 2-year service agreement.
• New and existing customers are required to select the unlimited data plan.
• iPhone is covered by the Apple Warranty. iPhone is not eligible for the wireless phone insurance program.
• AT&T and Apple have the same 14 day return policy from the date of purchase for both the device and the Apple-branded Bluetooth Headset.
• There is a 10% re-stocking fee applied to all returns if the box is opened (shrink wrap broken).
What do I need to do to get started?
• Access to a Windows PC or Mac with internet connectivity.
• An iTunes profile. (One will be created during the activation process for customers who do not have one.)
• A credit/debit card with Visa/MC logo.
• An email address that is accessible for urgent messages that they may receive during the activation process
Both CARE and Telegence prevent the removal of the unlimited data plan with the iPhone IMEI. If a customer changes to a different device, the IMEI change must occur in the billing system before the unlimited data plan is removed
Once a message is deposited in the customer's voicemail box, both the MWI and the message (as a digital audio file) downloads to the device via the data network.
• Charges for data transfer are applied to the unlimited data plan.
• The initial password is the last 4 digits of the wireless number. However, password resets are the last 7 digits of the wireless number.
• Visual Voicemail requires the ACDS APN. It is automatically provisioned when adding the Visual Voicemail feature.
• Customers are not required to use Visual Voicemail to access their messages. The standard voicemail interface on this device functions the same as other wireless phones. Customers can press and hold "1" or dial their own wireless number to retrieve messages as they do today.
Apple
Supports issues downloading and installing iTunes or issues with their iTunes account information.
AT&T
• The Activations Support group assists our existing customers with issues that arise during the online activation process with account information.
• An Order Processing group is designated to assist our customers with errors that arise during processing of the activation order
• iPhone only works with the a SIM card that was paired with the device during the activation process.
• Visual Voicemail only works with iPhone. If the customer takes the SIM card out of the iPhone and puts it into another device, the customer only has access to standard voicemail
MEdia Net --> iPhone has a full HTML browser providing a computer-like experience.
• UMTS --> iPhone has great internet access via EDGE or Wi-Fi.
• MMS --> Pictures can be sent to friends and family through email.
• Video or Music --> iPhone has enhanced enjoyment of music, audiobooks, video, TV shows, and movies on a widescreen.
• Third-party applications --> iPhone has pre-installed applications and widgets.
