All I can say about this situation is: I'm never buying a product from Ziploc again. Today, I took my phone into the neighborhood swimming pool, inside of TWO Ziploc bags. Shouldn't that be safe? So, we swam around for about 2 hours, and I get out, and my phone is sitting in this weird whitish water. (I don't know how long it has been sitting in the water, and I don't know why it was party white. Could that be battery acid, or something?) I immediately take it out and it starts vibrating, (I didn't feel it vibrating in the bag. Is that a good sign?) so I throw the battery out, and pocket the SIM card. I ride home as fast as possible, open the face side of the cover and dry out the part with the two screens. and took a blow-dryer to the battery pack part, becasue I can't open it. The SIM card is practically black, but I put it in my brother's phone, and it still works, and only one of the power contacts on the battery seemed burned, but the black stuff scraped right off. I plan on leaving the cover off and letting everything dry for roughly three days (Thanks to WikiHow) but I just wanted to ask. What do you guys think my chances are? Is there anything further that I can do to save this thing? All of my contacts are saved to my phone, not my SIM card, so the SIM card working really doesn't do much for me. What do you guys think?

My gut feeling is that you're phone is dead. Two hours in the water, charred SIM card (black, you say?) and a blackened battery? Bad news, I'm afraid.
You still should give your plan a try - it can't hurt, although I would suggest finding another SIM card so you don't risk messing up your own. I wouldn't trust that battery either.
I've gotta say, why did you think a ziplock bag (or two) would protect your phone from active swimming? Even if they are water-tight (a dubious assumption - they're pretty thin plastic), swimming actively probably jostling the bags something fierce - who knows how easy it would be to break the seal or even poke a hole in the bag.
I hope things go alright for you - at least that you can access your data for recovery. Let us know how it goes.
Peace,
Jacob M.

Well, on the Ziploc bags, I've done it several times before, with money and coins and change, all sorts of things, and it's never hurt. I've even done the same thing with the phone. And, those times were at a water park; being jostled and thrown around my water slides and the sorts. I haven't had a problem with it before. Unfortunately, it would seem that I was only asking for it.
Incredibly enough, I just tried the SIM card again in another friend's phone. I called my number, and it worked. I'm literally amazed that the SIM card still works. I mean, this thing looks like it just came off the grill. The battery, only one of the little golden contacts was black. So, I would hope that it's fine. Also, I'm not sure that the phone was in water for two hours. That's just how long I was in there. But, all I've got now is hope. I mean, if it doesn't work, I only got the phone about two months ago, (I know, didn't last too long.) so it should have some kinda warranty. I hope.
Anyway, thanks for the advice. Expect a full progress report in three days. I just hope for the best.

your phone may be under warranty, but it does not cover liquid damage.

Okay, Update! I'm not really sure what's going on with my phone, now. A few days have passed since this post. I let the phone dry for the three suggested days, and put the battery in. (Without the SIM Card. I didn't want to risk damaging it further.) At first, all that light up was the top screen; totally white. Then, after a while, that light went out and nothing but the key pad light up. It would do this only two or three times over the course of a day, so I just thought nothing of it and left the battery out. Well, just today, I put the battery in. The phone gave my one single vibration, and I looked at the screen. It showed the AT&T logo! The logo went away in just a few seconds, and started showing a gear cog with a screwdriver, and under it reads "Emergency Download" with a little LG logo. Now, I really don't know what's going on. The SIM Card is not in it, so I'm also not sure if I'm accomplishing anything.
What in the world is going on?

GOOD NEWS!
The phone is working! After that Emergency Update screen, a few hours later, the phone started showing the charging screen. For a while, it didn't recognize my SIM Card, but after a few restarts and such, everything works fine. My data's secured, my number's fine, everything works perfectly! This is truly a Wet Phone Fairy Tale!
Let this be a lesson; never give up on your phone. It took almost an entire week, maybe more, of sitting on the charger, broken, to get it back, but it's back and at full-throttle! Just give it time!
Thank you all so much for your help! As much of a help as you guys were, I hope, should we meet again, it will be on nicer grounds.
Thank you,

Sim cards are remarkably resilent (SP?) I've had mine through the washing machine, they usually survive water pretty well
