Private calls free on AT&T?

Is it free. I have a family plan and I just wanted to know if i blocked my number will it be free?

to my knowledge, it is, becuase its a feature on the phone

yes it is free to block you nubmer and or name, some phones have the option to do it on a per call basis or you have have it blocked on all calls by contacting CS

May not matter but you can not block calls to Toll Free Numbers.

an interesting question.

being an ATT rep that was former blue (old att pre merger) in that ( the old ) billing arrangement caller Id *did* matter .thats how the billing system determined MtM calls . so taking your question and doing a little research I have found that with all new plans (post merger) if you block your caller ID it does not matter. the calls will process as MtM as long as the phone (yours) is phytsically inside the coverage area no matter if you are aon network or off but inside the USA USVI or Peurto Rico

That's not quite true. There are some phones, the Samsung SYNC for example, that have blocked callers lists . they can call you but your phone won't ring. My Sony Ericsson has a similar feature of allowed callers but that's a short list.

that is a phone function... several phones have that function but as a network feature att (or any other wireless carrier AFAIK) has that feature available
