My T-Mobile phone, Samsung t209, doesn't charge properly so I need a new phone. I have the SIM card, and I have already discovered that if I buy any T-Mo phone, it should work. But where do you buy a phone without a plan or anything? And is it possible to find one not un-godly expensive? (I'm not prepared to buy a 90 dollar phone!)
Thanks!

$90.00 phone is cheap without a plan. Look on E-bay (but be cautious) for an unlocked GSM phone. Unlocked GSM phones will work on any GSM networks (T-mobile, Cingular etc.) You won't get anything "state of the art" for $90 but you can find some nice phones.

Are you sure the phone is the problem? Could be the battery. Here in portland or there is a second hand store that carries used cell phones.

you should be able to buy a prepaid TMo phone feom somewhere like, say Target. The one thing you may want to do is contact 611 or email support to be sure. but theoretically if it is a Tmo prepaid phone it would already be set for the Tmo network, so insert SIM and go.
i have done this once before, and i did call 611 before making the purchase (i needed a cheapy to get by until i could get a new one on my contract) and they said it would work, but to be sure just call them.
I didn't call back, bought it, inserted SIM and was up and running.
hope this helps.

You don't need to call 611. Buy a T-Mobile to Go phone and put your SIM in, and you're good.
