Most phones do not allow you to use songs as ringtones. I'm not certain about this phone however, as I don't have the manual to it, try looking in there.

Music Player:
This means that a phone includes memory storage for MP3, AAC or similar music files, and software for playing that music. Generally, music can be downloaded into the phone from a computer and played back later through a headset attached to the phone.
This is not to be confused with real-music ringtones, which are usually a distinct feature. A "music player" feature can play whole songs, independently of the ringer functionality.
Newer phones with High-Speed Data may support downloading music directly over the mobile network.
The phones are not able to have a song as a real tone

Best reason for this is, a whole song runs from 2-10 minutes while a ringtone is only 30 seconds.

It won't let you use the song as a ringtone either way, by design. Even if you were to crop the song yourself. The only feature the 755 features that my 650 did not is that you can record using the voice recorder and then export that to a ringtone. It's almost impossible even to get acceptable quality by recording a song manually using this voice recorder, but it's an interesting feature.

I don't really know much about the 755p since I have the 700p but there is this software that you can buy from palm's website or sprints that lets you add songs as ringtones. Not sure if you can do the whole songs but you can edit whichever part of the song you like in your computer then place it on your memory card and set it as a ringtone using that software.
