I purchased a chocolate a few months back and I knew I still had credits from my old phone to download ringtones. The woman at the Verizon store said to just call customer service and they would make sure I got my credits AND credit me any ringtones I already purchased on the old phone.
I finally got around to calling customer service and the rep said that that info was incorrect. He said that the ringtones and credits are to the phone you purchased them with. I asked if that was in writing somewhere and he said it's on the app. you use to get the ringtones. Well, I just looked and I couldn't find that in writing anywhere.
Does anyone have info about this? It seems so unfair that I paid money for something I didn't even use and I can't get it back. What a rip off.
I couldn't be more disappointed with Verizon right now. =(

It is true though that ringtones/credits are for the phone their purchased on.
However, because this policy is dumb, you will find some reps will credit for it & some won't. If you're very pleasent (no attitude) and ask to talk to a supervisor (if the regular rep declines to credit), then you can often get them to credit since you were misinformed.
good luck.

Thanks. I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe I'll luck out and get a nice rep. =)
