I recently bought an Apple iPhone and transferred my T-Mobile number to AT&T. Now whenever someone calls me from T-Mobile and I don't answer they are transferred to a generic AT&T voice mail prompt.
Callers are then prompted enter my 10 digit phone number (as if most people know phone numbers). After they dial my number they get my personal greeting.
I've called AT&T and after several days they say there's nothing wrong with my account. T-Mobile doesn't seem to know what's happening either.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Just wanted to post an update on this optic. AT&T told me they couldn't be ANYTHING and they they checked everywhere in there systems. They said it was T-Mobile's issue.
Voice mail was removed and re-added. They did a re-boardcast (whatever that means). Finally they told me to contact T-Mobile.
Contacted T-Mobile. They said they ported the number and have absolutely no records of my number in their system.
Called back AT&T, spoke with a manager seems they didn't check everywhere as previously claimed.
Manager said there appeared to be something wrong with my Local Routing Number from when my phone number was ported. Now I just wait to see if this fixed the problem.
I never had any issues with T-Mobile whatsoever. I SERIOUSLY regret switching to AT&T. Customer service is HORRIBLE. Hold times are ridiculous and the service representative don't know what they are talking about.

Yet another update. Apparently not the Local Routing Number as previously told by AT&T.
Days and days later they still have no idea. Now they need to open a ticket with another group to troubleshoot what's going on.
The saga continues. What's making me stay with AT&T you ask? I just paid $600 for a phone, which is by far the best phone I've ever purchased.

taking the iPhone part out of your equation. the problem is your voicemail deposit number.this is a comnmon isuue with **any** new activation. Customer care reps (of which I am one) that are taking care of iPhone issues are missing the obvious.call 18003310500 from a landline.
have the rep check you deposit and retrieval numbers for VM.
the only issue related to iPhone that I can glean from your issue is visual voicemail. new feature . not much experience with it. but at first look it seems to be the same VM as a regular service with a tie in to data some how.it *could* be that complexity

When a TMobile customer calls you, the TMobile network asks the ATT network to ring your number. It does. If you dont answer, ATT transfers the call to the appropriate VM server (they are getting to the right VM server, or they couldnt get your VM box at all). ATT is also supposed to hand the VM server your number, which the VM server uses to find your VM box. However, when a TMobile customer calls you, for some reason ATT hands its VM server something other than your number, which is why it cant find your VM box and gives them the generic greeting asking them to enter your number. Only after they key in your number does the VM server have the proper info to find your VM box, after which it promptly transfers them to it.
I dont think any of the phone reps or even their managers would be able to fix this for you. You needed to have a case opened on this issue, which, apparently, some rep finally did for you. I hope it gets solved. Its a very odd problem.

I have the same problem. My buddy does to. We're both in the Philadelphia market (if that makes any difference).
I was a new switcher from Tmobile--god do I hate ATT. My buddy was a ATT customer. Both of us bought iPhones, both have had this problem. Numerous calls to Att cust service and Apple's too, w/ trouble tickets opened have yielded nothing so far--great f'in customer service.
DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION YET?
