I was just wondering I know VZW offers an addtl $100 off a new phone after 20 months of srvc. Does ATT offer something similar? And if so what else is associated with this. I know Sprint charges an activation upgrade fee. Does anyone know Att policy for upgrading a phone?

you can upgrade if you're 18 months into your contract. You get new customer pricing on your phone, the fee depends on your payment history. AT&T put a new system in place not to long ago that looks at all aspects of your account to determine your upgrade eligibility.

I've seen ads for some AT+T dealers to have higher prices for phones to current customers than for new customers, usually in the range of $30.

acctualy the standard availabilty for upgrade thru the new at&t is still 21mo into you 24mo comtract, if you have multipule suspends it can delay you availability or if you are past due you cant upgrade, for some "high" revenue customers you can get additional discounts and/or have your upgrade fees waived, youll have to either chace on you online account of contact cs

I guess I'm special, my upgrade dates are all 6 months before contract . and I just upgraded with no fee.
In all seriousness though, it seems to me the newer system is more fair toward good customers and actually gives some incentive to renew contracts.
