I would like to renew my T-Mo contract. I have been with them under my mom's name since they were VoiceStream and under my own name since three or so years. I got a new phone in 2003 and haven't gotten a new phone since and I haven't been under contract since 2005.
I feel like I've been a really good customer (I've only paid late a very few times). When I call they offer me the same deals that new clients get on their site. can I get anything better than that? I'd like to get the Nokia 5300, any chance I can get it for less than $100 (I know I get $50 mail-in rebate).
Would appreciate input. I feel like I've been a really good customer and haven't really asked for much (I'm still using my 2003 phone!)

sorry, but once you're contract term is up, the best deal they are going to offer is the new customer rate

I thought t mobile had a renewal/upgrade credit incentive similar to verizon's 'new every two' discount. am I totally wrong?

i believe only verizon have a 'new every two" discount, all t-mo will give is a new customer phone price rate
and the "new every two" at verizon also lowered too, its now 25$ rather than $50

The way to get the best pricing through T-Mobile is to play the retentions game. Call up T-Mobile, ask your pricing for the 5300, and when they say something higher than what you want to pay then threaten to go to cingular where you can get a new phone for free. They'll transfer you to Advanced Customer Care where they can help meet your pricing demands.

t-mo do offer free phones, just not great specs like the nokia 5300, if you were looking for a free phone, tehy will probably give you basic phone. like samsung t209
