I am thinking about purchasing a Samsung i730 primarily for its WiFi and PDA abilities. I asked a verizon rep but they couldn't give me a straight answer, so do any of you know the answer to this:
If I am accessing the internet through a WiFi hotspot (I DO NOT want to put a data plan on this phone) will I be using any data services through Verizon and thus racking up charges?
Thanks for any help!

the answer is no, if you're using only wifi there's no billable usage.
the XV6700 also has wifi. also, i know samsung's currently working on a replacement for the i730 to be released within the 30-60 day (rumored) time frame. just a heads up

I appreciate the heads up, but I am looking at an ebay auction. Thanks for the prompt reply, I was also able to confirm this with a (fourth) call to Verizon today. All I really need is a WiFi capable phone to bring my Orb MyCast around school campus with me. If you don't know Orb check it out!
