I had a call yesterday that was sad and funny at the same time.
Customer calls up and says that he can not get data service on his blackberry 7130e. Simple enough
The account was disconnected, so anwser is obvious.
What is not obvious to the caller is that employer who is the account holder as a business account cancels the account that day.
In the notes from the customer service rep earlier that day as to reason why the account was canceled was this.
"Account canceled due to postion has been terminated for end user"
Now whether that was true or not I did not know at the time so I email the customer service rep and she confirmed that is what the account owner said that the postion was terminated and closed for that purpose.
So im like well sir, your phone as been terminated and so have you. Good by icon_devil.gif
Since caller had authorization on the account to make modifications I advised him of.
All I hear after that is a wimper and then the phone hangs up.
This of course being the last call of my day for Friday.
The company didnt even have the time to tell the guy he was fired from what I gathered. So phone provider had to tell him.
I guess he didnt get the memo

that blows. if that happens, we usually refer the cust to his IT dept. (i assume he's running off a bes) and he'd find out that way.

i dont think i would have said that. i think i would have just informed him that the company that owns the phone terminated the phone's service and that he'd need to contact his employer for further information.

That is funny as he||, but a real downer as the last call of the day before your weekend.

Fired on a Friday . . . less likely to cause a scene.
