Since they are switching Sprints billing system into Nextel's (sorta) then as a Nextel customer you will probably not need a credit check, but the same issue of not getting the best price on a phone will remain the same, as essentially it is all the same company.

Thank you, yes I figured that would stay the same but if I am going to spend money it might as well be on a phone I actually want not just cause it's the only choice I have. Sprint seems to have "cooler" for lack of a better word and since my teenager is getting one lol, phones.
I really wanted the ic902 but after reading some of the comments on it I am a little afraid to get it.
Thanks again for being so helpful.

No problem, if you like the ic902, the all Nextel i880 is close to the same thing. In fact after seeing some of the design elements, I'm not impressed with the ic902 at all, just a lot of things that are in bad places compared to the i880. But since you are looking at going with Sprint phones I might recommend getting the Katana Deluxe. Sanyo has been first or tied for first with JDPowers for the top spot on cell phone manufacturers. Sometimes I wish I could get a Sanyo to work on the Alltel network that I use.

Thank you so much McGirk, Your the best! I just emailed the rep I am dealing with now. She isnt back in till tomorrow afternoon so gives me some time to research. Do you think they willl allow the $75.00 toward the phones? the money they said I could apply to a nextel phone that is?Also what would be the best price they could charge me for that phone?
>329.99 regular price
-150.0 instant savings
-50.0 mail-in rebate
129.99 online price
thats what it says on their website but since I am not a new customer I am sure I dont qualify for the 150 instant savings. But what abouut the rebate? And one more question, for this topic at least lol, altel? why? maybe I should look into them! If you, whom I assume works for Sprint, use Alltel that says to me its a very good provider.
Hope you have a wonderful day. Its a beautiful sunny breezy day in here in NY!
Thanks again for being so helpful. I think you respond to these posts in the morning so every morning I have been running to my PC to see if you responded to my posts lol.

I work for an independent dealer that sells Nextel Sprint and Alltel, and usually post sometime between 9-5 while at work because I have little better to do, it's a slow location.
You should be eligible for at least 75 of the 150 instant savings. The mail in rebate you may or may not be eligible for, I usually recommend sending it in, for the price of a stamp you may or may not get $50 back, always worth a shot.
I've had Alltel now since early Feb and have been totally satisfied by it, and as long as you make sure your husband is in your Circle it may not be bad for you, although I don't know much about how well their service works outside of MI. You husband will most likely stay with Nextel for the DirectConnect contacts, make sure in this situation to get him one of the Free Incoming plans, that way as long as you're calling him it's free for both of you. One strong benefit to Alltel is their call centers are here in the United States, that makes talking to them a LOT easier.
