Well I've been looking for awhile now, and checking manyy online forums and other informational sources on how to do this. The results have not worked. I guess be glad that I joined THIS site to register and ask my question haha. Anyway, I have video converters to get it to the proper file format, but right now i only have the USB cable. It will work with verizon's software to put music onto my phone. I got an env earlier this year, and BitPim and all of its featured worked great with my phone, i even used it to get around paying Verizon to switch my phonebook over. But, I broke that older version of the env, had insurance so I got a new one. BitPim says that with this phone "the phone provider blocks access to this file/directory" or something. So what can I do to get the converted video onto my phone? It doesn't show up as an external drive or anything when I plug it in, but bitpim can recognize its there and same with v-cast.
Thanks for any help, I've been messing around with this FOREVER.

hey i know this doesn't answer your question but i'll be getting the env in about 3 weeks and i'm just curious how you got your contacts to it without using verizon? i would really prefer not to shell out $10 just for them to do that. thanks!

It's not real complicated. You will need a program to convert the movie to a 3gp format from the original dvd or divxx format. I use dvdfab. It has options to convert from practically any format to any format. Including phones, handheld games, anything portable. It's not freeware, but worth the investment. Enough of the almost advertisement.
After converting the movie to 3gp format, you will need a micro SD card, as used by the phone. They come in 1, 2, 4, and 8 GB sizes. I'm using a 2gb card and it works well for me. I am capable to loading 6 to 8 movies on one chip depending on length of movie and the quality used. You will need to access the card by way of a card reader to your computer or laptop.
Before you try to load the movie onto the card, insert it into the phone for a moment then remove it to access it directly with your computer. I believe the phone sets up a file structure on the card and you will need to see this structure to properly transfer the movie. You won't be able to access the full directories of the card thru the usb to phone connection. Verizon made sure of that.
Drag and drop the converted 3gp movie into the video file and put the card back into your phone. Access the my video area and play the movie.
Sorry this was so long, but I hope it helps!

I'm assuming that this will work with the enV2 as well? And how much did you get DVDFab for?

Hi.
Yes, it will work with the env2 as well. My wife and son got the env2 the same day I picked up my env. I can find no real difference between the two phones other than cosmetics.
The software will run around $50 bucks if you choose dvdfab. If you search around you may be able to find some freeware to accomplish the same task. You just have to ensure you are changing whatever file format of the movie to 3gp file.
As before, if you need any help don't hesitate to reply and I'll try my best to help you.
All the best,
Ron
