What are the pros and cons to each? And what I'm looking for more than that are for current owners to testify for each and share their experiences. thanks!

Don't buy a Motorola. I see more defective RAZR phones than I see any other phone. The motorola brand name now a days isn't what it used to be.
I very rarely see any defective Samsung devices. U740 is cool as long as you can get used to the buttons on it, But either way a lot more durable than the RAZR maxx/ IMO

thats easy if you do a lot of texting get the Samsung, if not the Razr is fine.
My roommate has the U740 and he likes it so far and i played with it for a bit .its pretty cool. if you have really big fingers it might be a problem.
