So I already posted this and it disappeared. So I'm posting it again in hopes that is actually posts this time. So if somehow both of them get posted please make comments in THIS thread so I can find it. Thanks.
Ok here goes again. I had the original vx8100 and it got messed up and since it was under warranty I got another one. This vx8100 apparently has new .mp3 software that makes listening to music from .mp3 files more difficult than the original one I had. So I put music on the minisd card and it wouldn't read it, because it was .mp3 format. I figured out my way around that problem by going to "menu" then pressing "0" then "000000" and going to "music" and "enabling mp3." This allowed my phone to read the .mp3 format but it made a new folder titled "My MP3s." So I have to play the music in that folder (it does play fine) which means when I hold down the play button on the front of the phone it reads "No Songs Found." I'm assuming the play button is reading from the "Music" folder and not the "My MP3s" folder. I can't put the .mp3 files in the "Music" folder because the phone won't recognized them. So my question is this: How do I get the play button to play the new "MY MP3s" folder? Thanks!

Why don't you just convert them to wma format? That's what I did and when I press the play button on the outside of the phone they play fine with the text showing also. I have the lg vx 8300.

I changed one song to .wma and it did at least show up in the folder but it won't play. Now it resets every time I try to play it and instead of saying "no songs found" when I press play it also resets. So either new idea or can you fix those problems? Thanks!

sounds like a software bug, if you have the most updated software avail. for that phone, I would maybe check on howardforums.com/ there is a lot of different hacks on that site/

open ur 8100, click ok then press 0000000 (7 times)
go to music settings
mp3 enable
there you go
Dont do anything else in that menu, if you do, it will ruin your phone.
