Hi All,
I just purchases the vx8550. I am able to transfer mp3's to the phone from pc with no problem. I purchases the 2gb minisd card and cable.
Is there a way to transfer pictures/video to the phone from my pc using the usb cable? I have seen other posts where people used a card reader but don't have one yet.
I tried to use windows media player to transfer .3pg files after converting them from .mpg. Windows media player says that the .3pg file format is not supported, but it still plays it.
I tried to use BitPim but have not gotten that to work. When I configure it and choose the phone I can only choose the vx8500. No support for vx8550?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I am also having trouble uploading the video's from my vx8550 to my PC. I just downloaded Bitpim today and immediately had it search for an update. It found a ver 1.0.0 to ver 1.0.1 update. "Close bitpim when installing the update". After the update, it recognizes my vx8550. The I get all of the data from the phone fine with the exception of the video. After getting data from the phone, my video's show up in the video folder as a .3g2 file. The weird thing is that they all show 0k "zero kb" for file size. I am wondering if since it doesn't understand the file format yet, it does not show the file size. I am going to download Super which converts .3g2 files to .mp4's etc to see how super see's the video files. Anybody else encounter this? know the fix? BTW. I'm running Vista. Try getting Roxio to work on Vista without it being a major PITA.

ok, figured this wole deal out yesterday. #1, make sure that your running Bitpim Ver1.0.1. With this verson, your PC should recognize the phone as a vx8550. Once this is done, if you want to transfer video from your phone to your PC, the videos need to be in an "unlocked" status on your phone. Once these two things are taken care of, the videos transferred to my PC seamlessly, and Quicktime just so happens to play .3g2 files, so no other player is needed. If you want to convert them to mp4 for viewing on a PSP or something like that, then the files will have to be converted using a file conversion program. Unfortunantly, the default size for these videos once on your PC is about a 2" x 2" play box. You can stretch the quicktime playing window to make it bigger, but the quality of the video suffers pretty dramatically.

I just used Danisoft Video to Mobile Phone Converter to convert video to my phone which is pretty good.
You may search it on google to have a try.

After hours and hours of searching for a site where I could make my own ring tones for free I came across a site where people have already made custom ring tones and allowed you to save the file onto your computer.
I found a tone of ring tones that I really liked. So I saved them onto my computer. My only problem was finding a way to transfer the mp3 onto my phone from my computer.
My boyfriend searched the internet for hours trying to find a server that allowed me to transfer them to my phone using the USB cord that I have for my phone.
He came across "QPST" so, I downloaded that onto my computer. But I cannot figure out what Im supposed to do next to get my mp3s onto my phone.
Any help? If someone could just walk me through it step by step I would really appreciate it.
My e-mail is mere blur of the past @ yahoo . com (without the spaces)
Thank you so much! I look forward to hearing from someone, soon.
