Sprint can thank Alltel and Verizon for that. Sprint's coverage without there roaming partners is abyssmal, it's a good thing they have free roaming w/proviso.

I wouldn't argue that, but Alltel wouldn't lose much if Sprint didn't work with them, as Sprint doesn't cover much that Verizon doesn't also cover, while both Verizon and Sprint rely heavily on Alltel's rural coverage.

And AllTel Needs Thier Urban Coverage. What CDMA Carriers Should Do To Corner The Market Is Form Some Sort Of Contract So All The CDMA Carriers Involved Pitch In Evenly To Make A True Nationwide Coverage, Where You Can Pick Up A Signal Anywhere In The Continental US. Anywhere. Now That Would Be Something To Boast About.

What do you think they are doing. Alltel hits rural, Verizon hits urban, Sprint hits a handful of major markets and piggybacks off of the others for the rest. Thing is, this country has some MAJOR geographical roadblocks to complete coverage, in certain areas it is just not cost effective to have coverage.

Um, take a look at a Sprint coverage map, most areas don't have a whole lot of coverage, and let's face it, where do you need the coverage more, in town, or in BFE? On the other hand, I read something about putting signal in balloons. They were testing it in the Dakotas, but I haven't read anything about that in close to 2 years.

places i need and use my phone -- new jersey, new york (city and long island) --- those 2 mostly
then theres -- Pennsylvania, and pretty much on major highways from NY to FL down the east coast and also in parts of FL
For all those places -- i ALWAYS have signal from sprint -- so i have no reason to complain about Sprint's coverage
