Sprint or T-Mobile?

I'm down to my final two carriers--sprint and t-mobile--and I need to choose one. Here's my list of pros and cons:

Sprint:
Pros:
-I can get a 15% discount off a monthly plan through my school
-nights and weekends begin at 7pm
-coverage seems more than adequate for the two most important areas I'll be
Cons:
-I've heard bad things about their customer service
-I've heard it takes a long time for them to apply a discount that you might get through work or school
-only 450 shared minutes for the family plan I'm looking at

T-Mobile
Pros:
-I've heard their customer service is good (or at least better than sprint)
-1000 minutes for the same price as the sprint family plan
-I may be able to get a veteran discount (I think they offer one--anyone know more?)

Cons:
-I don't know if their coverage will work for sure in the two areas I need
-a 14-day trial period instead of the 30-day trial period sprint has

What do you guys think?

I have actually had both of the companies. But i still have tmobile. I'd say sprint is better. If you are going to be a buildings throughout your day, sprint is better for you because CDMA (sprints technology) generates signal better through buildings than GSM ( tmobile's technology) does. I like to talk on the phone, so I'd prefer nights at 7 than 9. Also my tmobile phone has a lousy internal antenna. If i put my hand over the top of the phone at any time, my signal drops 1 -2 to even 3 bars. Not good. Especially becuase this happens more often when im on a call, making a dropped call easier to get. I did not have that problem with sprint, having had an internal antenna on my sprint phone as well. So for those reasons, I say you should get sprint

You mean T-mobile towers are worse then Sprint towers. Because in Europe there is NO problem in buildings. And there is only GSM.

That is true. But here in the United States we have both. I have T-Mobile because of my parents and now I have a Sprint/Nextel phone because sprint has much better coverage in my area than T-Mobile. As far as value and that goes, T-Mobile is good if you want basic service. If you want to have good phone service I'd go with Sprint. The discount takes about 2 billing cycles to appear and their customer service isn't all that bad. I personally don't like T-Mobile because they always try to make me buy a new phone everytime something little happens to it :-/

Lower frequencies penetrate buildings better. It's not a matter of GSM vs. CDMA. TMobile (in the US at least) only use the 1900mhz frequency, whereas Sprint uses both the 1900 and 800 mhz frequencies. Because of this Sprint also has better coverage in more rural areas. From what I've encountered TMobile offers more minutes for your dollar then any of the other companies, but that must largely be due to the fact that they are compensating for having the weakest coverage of all the top companies. There are smaller companies then TMobile, with dramatically better coverage. Alltel being one of those.

Every person i know that has sprint, has horrible reception. also, when you supposedly don't have reception, you're roaming, and therefore paying more!

Sprint doesn't charge anything for roaming as long as you use more minutes off of their towers then their roaming partners. And Coverage has as much to do geographically as anything. In one area it may work great and in another not so much. Always ask independant dealers who sell more then one which company they would go with. An independant company shouldn't feel the need to stick with one company or another, so are more likely (not totally, but more at least) to be honest with you.

Sprint the best coverage in america--- lol just check coverage maps.
