alright so i'm thinking about getting the dash around mid-September, mainly cuz of all the good reviews and the Wi-Fi. BUT, i really need to know, if i have a wireless set-up up at my house or a friends house or somewhere on the street or in a shop, can i access the web without paying t-mobile for data access or whatever? (this is most definitely a deal breaker)

You do not pay for data access outside of tmobile's system. That means any wifi signal you find that is free or you know the password too will work on the dash without you paying tmobile.

The only place I know to get one is tmobile unless you want to buy an unlocked one from HTC. If you want the unlocked one, send me a private message and ill send you some websites that sell it.

-edited- may have it, and the other place I use is something like gsmimports.com (not sure if that is right, if it isn't do a search for wireless imports and see if you find a cell site that ends in imports and I'll work on getting u the name of the site.

Thanks for the help apple, i found wirelessimports.com, but the price there was higher than t-mobile, probably cuz it was an unlocked version. I looked up dash on ebay and found multiple auctions going at "Buy It Now" for 250 dollars, would any of you suggest buying from ebay if it's a preferred seller with 99 + rating? or i guess would any of you object to it

I've bought and sold phones on ebay without ever having a problem. Just look at the pictures, ask questions and check feedback ratings.

Hi there I just got my new dash
I bought it from a supplier I usually buy phones from and i was to come unlocked but didn't so I had to unlock it. It's a wonderful phone. I've been at it for four hours and still can't get through all these features.
I don't use T Mobile because it's not available in my area I only wanted a nice phone that was Quad band and would be able to handle task and keep me organised. I shilled out USD$350 including shipping for this phone and so far the 4.45 hours I have it it's worth it. I got to really take care of it.
I was trying to set it up on my home wireless I got it connected but couldn't figure out where I went to switch it to the WIFI access as I did set up the GPRS ettings for my carrier here.
I want to check the pseed on wi-fi because GPRS is slow here, I guess if I can find out the settings they use for Blackberry and try that I'll give it a shot. But it's a great phone so far and I'm happy with it.
