Just became a ATT customer 5 days ago, and received a first bill.
Bil says I owe a monthly fee for the first 5 days of usage,
because the billing cycle starts on particular date.
Called customer service and they said something about I pay for the next billing cycle.
Is this a kind of scum from ATT I don't know about?

The way AT&T (formerly Cingular) bills you is based on the upcoming month. So you essentially pay one month in advance. Its not a scam and you can always call AT&T to ask about the particulars - its just the way they (Cingular, now AT&T) have done things.
AT&T offers help with adjusting your bill due date, if you're having trouble paying or would like to wait until your 30-day grace period is over. Call them if thats a concern of yours. I have found in my own dealings that there is a 10-day grace period after the posted due date on my bill before lates fees accumulate. I don't know if that is the common practice or something that comes after a period of on-time customer payments.
In any case, welcome to AT&T! I hope that the service is satisfying and you enjoy having wireless telephone access.
Respectfully,
Jacob M.

So they are going to pay back one unused upcoming month payment when I cancel the service?
The service is OK as it is with all the other wireless providers.

I don't know if they credit you the month's payment if you cancel the service - I would suggest that you not pay until you've made the decision to stay with AT&T. The bill has the due date on it, I'm positive that the date isn't before your 30-day trial period ends.
