I am thinking of purchasing a 3650 and getting service through T-mobile and getting the unlimited internet option. I need this since I am on the road quite a bit with my laptop and need access. I need to know what I need to connect the phone to the laptop in order to get the laptop online. Does it require a special pcmcia card or is there a cable I can get that will go right into my existing NIC or USB ports?

i dont think a pcmcia card will be required.(will check on that)
U will need to connect the 3650 to ur laptop using either an ir port or bluetooth dongle. Then in connectivity activate the modem. For settings, contact ur operator(tmobile in ur case).
U might need special settings from tmobile for using ur phone as a modem.

With your setup (n3650 w/ T-mobile unlimited internet), will you need a separate Internet service provider, such as AOL or Earthlink?
If you get this to work, please let us know how your connection speed is!

all you need are bt adaptor and add unlimited internet on your phone account
make sure your phone access point is internet2.voicestream.com (menu-Tools-Settings-Connections-GPRS)
after pairing your phone, remember go to nokiausa.com dl 3650 modem options
then you make a new connection
no dialing rules
dial: *99#
user name and pwd are not required
modem: bluetooth modem
the speed is around 30-40k, 48k max
if you have difficulties, leave me your private msg, I am gladly to help you
good luck

Thanks for the replies, I haven't got it yet, I did some more research and checked with Verizon, they have an unlimited internet option like this but it is 80 bucks a month compared to T-mobile's 20 bucks for unlimited. I am going to head there on monday to pick up the phone and get turned on. I should try it sometime next week. If I have trouble I will let you know.
For the person that asked if I would need aol... My understanding is no, T-mobile is basically the ISP.

T-Mobile Internet is actual ISP (except usenet and ISP email)
ideal for mobile or backup internet
I thought I get verizon once as option, but the price is too expensive, and one year committment, then I sign up T-Mobile
I don't need hundred kbps, just need dial-up speed, that's why I get Tmo

Mingkee,
When u pair ur phone with the ipaq using BT or ir, is it possible to surf on the ipaq using the phone as a modem??
Also, will the ipaq handle calls made to the phone when both are connected??

100% yes
actually, I use this combination to listen internet radio outside my home
and, you don't receive any calls when you're online, and GPRS is temporarily disabled when making a call
