I actually tried that but I am on a coporate enterprise unlimited plan that I have had for years. When I called in they told me they could not give me the same plan thru Sprint. Is this true?

Yes, that is true. Since that is an out-dated rate plan, Nextel doesn't even offer it to customer anymore. What they have now it a plan call the Buisness Essentials (on Nextel), and the biz Essentials (on Sprint).
Here are the prices on that rate plan:
Biz Essentials 0 $25
Biz Essentials 400 $39.99
Biz Essentials 1000 $59.99
Biz Essentials 1400 $79.99
Biz Essentials 2000 $99.99
Biz Essentials 3000 $149.99
Biz Essentials 4000 $199.99
This rate plan is a shared plan, so the entire account pools the minutes together and then share the large bucket of minutes. If you have drivers (that don't need cell service, just walkie talkie), we can add a cell restriction and put them on the 0 minute plan for $25 (which is the cheapest plan that we offer). What are you needs? How many phone lines on the account? How many minutes total?

It is just one phone line but on a busy month I will use close to 5,000 minutes. So it would not benefit me to switch to Sprint since my plan is only $111 for unlimted minutes. I do need a PDA . Is there any way to get a different unlocked phone to work on the Nextel system? What about a phone that has GSM and CDMA , that is unlocked . Will that work since the new Hybrid phones work on the CDMA . .

Nope it won't work. If you get an unlocked CDMA phone, or get one of our phones unlocked (isn't really that hard if you know the right people ), it still won't work with the iDEN network, in addition it is impossible to activate a non-iDEN phone in our computer systems. On the Sprint & Nextel side, there is an unlimited plan for $99 for certain markets. What state do you live in, and if it is california, what county?

I am in California in Riverside county. I actually just read about that unlimted plan today somewhere on this forum. Do they have that here in Riverside county. That would be perfect for me. if not do you know if they will eventually?

Hey Brian! I am TRULY not satisfied with my Nextel service. Is there any way I can receive a copy of my contract from Nextel to see EXACTLY what it states about the 2-year contract. As I have been with Nextel since May 2004 and can't wait to get away from it. My contract expires April 2008. Are there any cell phone companies that will switch and pay the ETF for the customer just to get the business. I thought about switching to Sprint but do not know if I want to commit to another 2-year contract as Sprint is now TOGETHER with Nextel. Any help? [/img]

I have had a blackberry for years. I a very ADHD and it is my life in order for me to be able to function. When I had NEXTEL, I spent an hour on the phone with a CSR who told me that the motorola i580 was JUST like the berry! So I bought it. I had it for SIX HOURS and discovered it was NOT just like the berry. So Icalled CSR and said I was sending it back and wanted to replace it with aberry---he told me NO because I had already used it! I switched to Cingular. Now I have a $400 phone and can't use it. I know they are different (GSW vs IDEN) but I can't believe that with all of the technoogy and stuff that my ONLY recourse is to toss this phone. I have talked with 5 CSR reps and tried to gt a code or some method of being able to use this phone I paid so much for,,,and NONE help.

Until the merge, I never had an issue with iDen call quality, so I can't totally agree with CDMA being superior in quality to iDen, but I can say that CDMA coverage vastly exceeds that of iDen.

Brian@CARE - I currently have an i670 SIM card ends in 330. Will this SIM card work for an i880? Thanks in advance.

Brian~I have Nextel and like many others am not happy at all with the service. I experience a multitude of dropped calls and having "no service" in heavily populated areas, but worse is the service where I live, I'm lucky to have a bar of service most times. I know my contract is not up until Aug. 2008, is there anything i can do about cancelling and not get completely screwed w/ cancellation fees? i figure it can't hurt to ask. thank you for your time.
