Hey everyone I am new to this forum, but I am Nextel CSR and right now am at work. If you guys have any questions about Nextel stuff, (iDEN phones, billing, etc.) but are tired of getting the run around from crappy reps, ask here and I will give you a hand while I am working. I have worked with Nextel's call centre company for quite some time and know what it is like to be our customers icon_wink.gif. I hate the run around that we give sometimes, but that is the problem with all call centres in general. Post here if you need to know a loop-hole or if you have a general question about a policy that you don't understand. I will check here while I am at work, it'll give me something to do, haha icon_smile.gif

icon_sad.gif After many years with Nextel, our company finally had to leave them do to lack of coverage area and droped calls. Please note that when we first got the phones coverage was good, service went bad after Sprint merger. We didn't owe for any phones, etc. but Nextel tried to charge us a disconnet fee. We told them to stuff it (in a nice way)as we were leaving because of bad service, they would never admit the problems that we tried to work with them on for over 6 months. I think they finally gave up, we kept saying if you think your right take us to court. They would never respond, just turn us into collections. I think they should have to stand in court before they can mess with us in collections. Our company has great credit ratings everywhere else as we pay our bills ontime.

Just information for all of you, have a great day.

Since the merger there is really bad communication within the account services department. they follow there policies that Sprint set up for them, and do not have any thought as to certain customer's situations. It is unfortunate, but if you find a good Nextel Care rep (when you call 1-800-639-6111, press zero) sometimes they can figure a good way to get out of the etf

I have one of the CDMA/iDEN phones (the IC502) and I was wondering if there really is a way to make the phone be used as a modem? I know that for a fact that it would be slow as heck because it doesn't use the EVDO network but can it be done?

Also would getting the IC902 be worth it?

Any of the powersource phones, when used as a modem will get the same speed since they all run off of the same network. The ic402/502/902 will all get the same speeds. It will be really slow, but it is a cheap alternative to buying a EVDO data card

Phone went through the washer over the weekend. Need to keep all my info and phone number. Will my SIM card survive and what compatible phones will accept this SIM card? Thanks

I can tell you all the models of phones that are compatibile with your sim card, does the sim card end in a 310, 330, 800, or a 300? Or, is it a hybrid phone? The sim card may be okay, even through the wash, just let it air dry by taking it out of the phone

Whats the acceptable waiting time for a rep to get back to a customer? I spoke to one on Thursday who gave me some information to consider and was told to call back when I decided what to do . I called back an hour later only to of course get voice mail. I am still waiting for a response back. Am I wrong to feel that this is rude? That a return call should have been made by now? The reps hours are 1 pm till 10:00 pm same time zone as me.
Thanks.

I have 2 questions first of all are there any new Nextel PDA phones coming out ? Second are there any PDA phones that I can buy unlocked that would work on the Nextel frequecy? I don't really care if the radio works. They sell some on e-bay that are unlocked and they say they work but they are GSM phones not iden. Will they work?

The i670 sim card should end in 330, if that is the case, it is compatible with the following phone models. i560, i760, i355, i275, i580, i605, i615, i670, i836, i850, i870, i930. If you purchase a phone that is not one of the models, you can bring both the old sim card and the new sim card to a service and repair centre to get the sims swapped.

For a repsonse from a rep (I am assuming it is account services, since they are the only call centre reps with extensions) the wait time is whatever they told you, so if he said 24hours, it would be 24 hours. If he didn't call you back, phone him back, if the call goes to voicemail, that means he is helping another customer. If that is the case, try just calling account services general and seeing if another rep will help you.

No, Nextel is not coming out with any new phones at all. They are not going to produce any iDEN only phones, since the voice call quality is lower than that of the CDMA network. If you have a Nextel account already, you can purchase a sprint PDA and get the phone on the CDMA network (they can convert your account), then you can still have reps who speak fluent english, since Nextel call centres are in Canada/USA, and the Sprint call centres are in the Philippines.
