I'm thinking of getting the VX8300 (vs. the Samsung SCH-u540), but I have a few questions first:
1) I plan on loading up mp3 files on a 1gb card. In the MP3 player, is there a shuffle option to listen to a random order of songs?
2) Do I need to worry about the MP3 player turning on if I have the phone lose in my backpack? Is there a hold switch like on an iPod? In know you can lock the phone, but that's too much of a hassle to unlock.
3) How long will the battery last when only use for MP3 playing, but with the phone still active, EV-DO off?
Oddly enough, those are my major concerns right now.
Your help is appreciated.

I have the VX8300 also. It does have a shuffle mode. The play button on the outside will activate the player if held down for about 10 seconds, so technicaly it could start playing in your pocket if the button were held somehow for that long
