My contract is up at the end of the month, and I've been looking at new phones. Currently, my winning candidate was the Razr maxx VE, but the new Chocolate caught my attention simply because it was a slider.
So, how would it fair as a phone used for calling, texting, and a few pictures here and there, but not so much music? How long does the battery last?

I hate the chocolate I got mine Dec 06
The touch sensors suck, and texting is a b*tch.
Luckily I get to up date soon.

My advice would be to wait until the Moto RIZR TV comes out, and get that slider. It has the form factor you're looking for, an upgraded camera compared to the other sliders offered (2 megapixel), and the TV capability for when your area gets service. Details for that phone can be found at phonearena.com. If you like LG, the newer version chocolate really tears the old one up. Second model cell phones are usually better with new technology, the first was the tester.
