Hey guys! I just recently purchased a Motorola Ming A1200 from Taiwan and it was working mint in Canada for the past month or so until a few days ago when it started not taking calls.
Someone would call me and it would ring, but my phone wouldn't ring or have any reaction! At first, only some calls would go through, but now, nothing! I can make out going calls no problem, and my reception is very good!
I tried calling my service provider and they told me everything looks good on their end.
I tried a master reset on the phone, thinking that maybe its a setting error, but that didn't help either. I put my SIM card into my old phone, and its working just fine.
Any ideas? Please help!
Thanks!
Ps. One thing I just remembered, maybe its the cause, maybe not, but I took out my SIM card few days ago and switched it with another one just to test it out, but I took it out and placed mine back in again. I'm not sure if this information will help or not.

Contact your service provider and ask for a new SIM card (with the same number etc., of course). Normally, they do it free of charge. This might help (though not 100-percent sure).

Hi!
I got a new SIM card, and its not working!
I would contact my service provider, and they would "refresh the system" for me, and I would be able to get incoming calls, but only till the next day, where the same problem would come back!
My sister has the identical Motorola Ming, I put my SIM card into her phone and I would have the same problem. My sister on the other hand, with the same phone, using the same service provider, doesn't have this problem.
This sounds like a network issue, doesn't it? Could it be a flaw in the phone?

heyyy I have a a1200 and im having the exact same problem. n it just started around 2 days ago. I really think there is some network problem too that our fone is not supporting or something. I put my simcard into my frds fone n it wroks just fine. I tried 4 simcards and and 3 of them doesnt work. 1 of them works but its a prepaid plan. so I believe it should be something to do with the network. btw are you on fido?

Hey man. I'm with Rogers, not Fido, but last I heard, Roger's owns Fido.
I tried the master reset as well, to reset to factory default. That didn't work either.
Did you manage to fix it, or you having the same problem?
I wonder if a flash would help. or would this be considered a manufacturer's flaw? Like I said, my sister has the identical phone, we bought it from the same vendor, but hers works perfectly.
Anyone who can help! Please!

I didn't get it fixed yet. I really don't kno what the problem is.
one thing i dont get is it works with a prepaid service simcard.
I don't even have time to get this fixed cause I have final exams right now.
but if u find a solution please let me know. because i don't want to spend so much money on a fone again.

hey i just called fido and they said they are having this promotion thing for something to do wiht name caller id. and its interfering with unlocked fones. so you just have to call fido and tell them to disable that function and your fone should work

Hang on. At 1:30pm you told me that you still haven't gotten your phone to work, but at 5:45pm you tell me about removing the optional service from Fido. and now its working? Is that what your telling me? So without the "name caller id", does that mean you have no caller ID?
Like I said, I don't use Fido, so I'm not sure if that'll matter or not, but I'll ask Roger's about it tomorrow and we'll go from there.
Tell me once more what exactly was the optional service that was being provided by Fido that was causing the problem? Is it caller ID, or something else? Be more exact if you can.
Thanks
