I just got an lg cell phone with my family's plan. My mother picked it out for my birthday, and I just don't like it. I really want a razor phone, but I can't bring myself to buy a very expensive one from the verizon store. I went to ebay to try to find an unlocked verizon razor phone but I can't find one directly in that specific category. There are some GSM razor phones that unlocked though. If it is a cingular or t-mobile phone that is unlocked, could I get one and just transfer from my old phone to the new one. Could someone please tell me what my options are? I would be extremely grateful!

Now the question needs a little more details to answer, but here it goes.
1st option is if ur within the 30 day worry free guarantee u can return or exchange ur phone without any penalties.
2nd. Unlocked phones use gsm technology which differs from what VZW uses which is called CDMA technology. Don't want to get into the differences in technology at this point, but bottom line is THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE. U can purchase a RAZR phone from ebay, Just make sure it's a VZW PHONE. sHOULD be cheap. Even a new RAZR without a contract is only around $200. U can also try to trade ur phone for a razr phone. What kind of phone do u have? And what do u not like about it?

Well see I have an LFVX5300. I just don't really have that much interest in it because a razor phone just has exactly what I want in a phone. It's a good looking phone for one.lol, it has a lot of features that this phone doesn't, and I just like it in general. My sister has a razor phone, and I love it. I went to ebay and I tried looking for unlocked verizon razor phones but they were so expensive. The ones that were with the gsm carriers were alot cheaper. I should probably just be satisfied with what I have and just leave it at that!  Thanks for your help!

Sorry to hear that. I personally hate the vx5300. It's not a bad phone. But it does lack the extra features that the Razr and like models have. Are u within the 30 day WFG window that would allow u exchange the phone?

V3M has one EXTREMELY annoying feature, to remove the 'external' memory card, you have to remove the battery as well to get to it.
