I live in the U.S. now, and am a current T-Mobile customer. I'm going to be moving to Canada for 6 months, and then will return home. I'm looking for a way, or a package, that will allow me to make phone calls between Canada and the US without getting hammered with roaming charges. The only alternative solution I have found so far, would be to use Skype. but I would really prefer to use my phone over my computer when communicating with friends and family back home. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

There is no way to avoid roaming charges.

Maybe, and no promises here because I'm not sure, look into tmobile @home. Call and ask if your on your on network if you have to pay for roaming. I'm thinking you will still be charged, but this is your best hope.

If you will log onto T-Mobile network, you won't get charged. But T-Mobile network will only have signal near the border, so it's probably not a way to do it.
