Almost all my calls are failing in the past two weeks on T-Mobile. I have called Customer Service several times and I've been told "The Server is having problems in your area", or try turning the phone on/off, maybe it's the battery, maybe it's the sim card.etc, etc, when I tried to move to another carrier (Verizon), T Mobile directed me to a Supervisor who said I'd be hit with an early termination fee.I have reset the settings several times, the battery is charged and the bars are plentiful. Why would almost every call fail?

for the last two weeks my phone (Unbranded K1) has been going in and out of "Emergency Only" mode. Even when it shows TMobile, good signal, and Edge functioning, the phone will sometimes not allow outgoing or incoming calls. I thought it might be my phone but maybe it's not. I'm in the Phoenix area.

usually international phones have poorer phone reception, since they're frequency settings are different. eventhough they may have the ability to function with the necessary freq, i notice that my mom's phone, a samsung e315, has better reception than my razr vx

thisivi3: the reception isn't an issue. I have always had great reception (metro PHX). I scoped some info on the Motorola Phone board about a character in Canada that uses Fido and his did the same thing after they "upgraded" their caller ID. He cancelled the network caller id and it worked for him. I have done the same with TMobile but the phone still won't function properly. But, right after they disabled it, it worked fine for a little while (a few minutes).
It seems that this is an issue between the network and my phone. The phone registers, shows a network but won't get feedback when trying to make a call, receive a call, text, etc.
I'm about ready to either A) reprogram the phone with TMobile software or B) switch carriers.
krazykat40: you still having problems? I'm kinda basing my solution on the fact that you have the same problem with the same network at the same time. what type of phone do you have (model and unlocked?) and where is your service? Trying to narrow it down.

what I would do in this case besides verifying the sim is the correct one on the account would be to also update the IMEI number if needed, then check the back end provisioning via our iHLR software, I'd probably cancel your current location which kicks you off the network/tower you're on and re-registers then get you to do a power cycle (turning off phone and taking the battery out for 15 sec then putting it back in then turning phone back on), if that didn't work then probably tier 2 care for handsets .
normally there is troubleshooting flows we have to follow before we do the iHLR step which is normally like near the end of the steps, but I find most of those flows a waste of time, not always but ya. doing what I said above sorts out most users issues with similar problems about 80% of the time.
of course this won't really work if it is an outage causing the problem, then we just have to wait for the RF engineers to fix the issue.

I have had this T Mobile for quite a few years the pre pay
plan. used it in Utah, Florida with fine results also travelling
the route from vero beach to Boston area without any failures.
Now for the past 6 days no network service is available in
WInthrop 02152 area. All my calls to corp office and visit to
location in Revere T Mobile say the same thing we are working on the
outage problem and MSN is fixing it today. Same message every day
so today is another "were working hard to resolve the network
and today it will be resolved" LOL. In the meantime were sans the
ability to connect via T mobile. thank goodness for the Magic Jack
i have had for just such emergencys. That is, as long as my puter
is online LOL
