I've a quick question, which I can't find the answer to. I was wondering if I buy a Nokia N95 or the HTC TyTN II from the T-mobile Internationals, will I be able to just pop my SIM card into the phone, without any problems. Or would I need to, like unlock my phone or do anything special with it?
Thanks in advance for your answers. :]

Each country's tmobile phone company is a different company that just happens to be owned by the same parent company. I'm assuming your using a tmobile usa sim for this phone, but please correct me if I'm wrong. If you get a phone from another countries tmobile, for instance tmo-uk, unless that phone is sole unlocked, your tmo-usa sim will not work in it. If you are buying a phone outside of tmo-usa, then your phone needs to be unlocked to accept your usa sim card.

Yes, I'm, using T-MoUSA.
MpApple10 Thanks a lot for that quick answer! :]
Another question-- do you happen to know where I can unlock a cell phone? Will T-mobile unlock my phone?
Once again, thanks.

Tmobile will unlock a phone for you once every 90 days.

what is interesting if you put T-Mobile USA SIM Card to T-mobile Poland locked phone, it will work. It won't work in reverse though (T-Mobile Poland SIM with T-Mobile US Phone)

Its my understanding that most european phones are unlocked. When I was visiting the UK, I went to a tmo-uk store just to see what kind of phones they had compared to the US lineup, and every one of the them was unlocked.

mpapple, no, i mean it worked that way: I tried US SIM Card in T-Mobile Poland phone; T-mobile sim worked, Cingular said "SIM LOCK" (it was some sagem i don't know the model). Same thing happenned to other Polish SIMs. so it was only T-Mo to be chosen

I generally agree with what mpapple said: many European phones are unlocked (altho by no means all are).
So when you put your T Mob USA in a Polish phone it worked because the phone was unlocked.
When you put a Polish SIM in your Cingular phone it said SIM LOCK because the phone was not just locked to the network, it seems it was locked to the specific SIM card, which I don't think is very common these days over here in UK.

As I said before UKmobileguy, the phone WAS NOT UNLOCKED. I put other polish sim card in it and it didn't work. same with Cingular SIM.
