Does anyone know of any quad band phones that have dual sim card slots?

I travel a lot. I bought one of the Samsung dual sim tri-bands but they don't work well in the US where 850MHz is common.

The only phone with quadband and dual SIM available that works is one called the Techfaith Cynthia 850 and also sold by a marketing partner called QiGi named the QiGi I55. They are both Chinese but are decent quality and run on a licensed Windows Mobile platform. I also bought one of the quad band dual SIM Chinese phones you see on Ebay. They are junk and don't work. They only cost 100 bucks and are worth zero bucks.

The Glofiish DX900 is not available, also Chinese but high quality should be available soon. It is better than the Techfaith/QiGi in that it has GPS and has UMTS/3G. But it was announced in the Spring of 2008 and it is now November 2008 and they are still not available. I ordered the Techfaith/QiGi product which is quad band, dual SIM, Windows Mobile but I haven't received it yet. A little over $300 it is not cheap, but if it works it will be a solution. Note: I suspect US carriers advise manufacturers that they will not buy dual sim phones, so a big part of the market is lost so manufacturers like Nokia, Motorola etc. don't make them as they cannot be sold to US carriers and in Asia and Europe 850MHz is not an issue.

Received the Techfaith Cynthia 850.

The good: Dual SIMs both active. Windows Mobile PC 6.0 Professional works as it should. Good quality build like a standard quality cellphone not like the clones you find for 100 US on Ebay and elswhere.

The bad: Only one sim slot is quad band, the other is tri-band. I put my US SIM in the quad band slot and my european Sim in the tri-band slot. When the european Sim locks on to T-Mobile, it is ok because T-Mobile doesn't use the 850MHz band in the US, just 1900 MHz. When the triband slot Sim can't find T-Mobile it usually can't find ATT/Cingular unless you manually do a network search to force it on T-Mobile. Not a big problem as I don't get many calls on my euro sim in the US.

It is not 3G and doesn't have internal GPS

All in all it is a good solution, until the Glofiish DX900 is released.

The only non-Chinese silly clone phones (that don't work) that meet those requirements is made by a very good Chinese designer and manufacturer called Tech Faith.

They call it the Cynthia 850 and it is marketed by a company called Qigi and a Russian company called Sitronics. The Sitronics model is called the S-105, I think.

They run Windows Mobile 6.0. I have two, great phones but they don't have WIFI or 3G. I am waiting for the Glofiish/Acer DX900 to be available in Europe which has 3G, WIFI and a 3 meg plus camera. This is also quad band dual SIM.
