I adquired a Sprint AUDIOVOX XV 6600 PDA which was activated with Verizon at one time, I went to Sprint to activate, which is my cell carrier, but was told I had to go to Verizon to clear somekind of memory, or something to that sort. Can someone explain this for me they were not clear on this and this is my first time with PDAs.

most likely its SOC locked to Sprint. some carriers will not allow use of another carriers device (usually non compatability issues)

VZW and sprint both lock their phones so they will not work on each others networks even though they use the same technology (cdma). In all my time at VZW never heard of this being able to be by passed. If you do find a way, more power to you. But doesn't seem likely
