instead of using qt pro i used windows movie maker, which comes standard on most pc's today. The image you insert must be a .bmp and cannot work if its a .jpg. its very simple to change an image to .bmp just open it w/ paint and go to file - save as - "image.bmp" and it will b changed. I used Super as you suggested and it workd wonderfully so far ive had no problems and ringtones sound great. Only disappointment is tht i cannot use the ringer for messages so i have to use voice memo for that and the sound quality sucks. If you know a better way to make good message ringtones please let me no

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. I tried following these directions, but I had no luck. Created a .3g2 file. I can access it when I search the SD card on the phone and it plays fine, but I can't assign it as a ring file (b/c it's not in the directory (?) when I try to look for it when assigning ringers). Thanks for any help!

Step #1: Acquire "SUPER" and "Quicktime Pro". I know QT Pro isn't free, but you'll need it. I just happen to own a copy of it.
Step #2: Choose a song that you like and edit the length of it in QT Pro.
Step #3: Choose a picture that will relate to the ringtone. Everytime your ringtone plays, this picture will show up. Make sure the picture is at 320:240 resolution
Step #4: Open up a 'new player' in QT Pro, open up the picture file in QT Pro and open up the music file that you want in QT Pro. (note: 3 windows should be open.
Step #5: Copy and paste the music into the 'new player' window.
Step #6: Copy the picture and then go to the 'new player' window and click EDIT>ADD TO SELECTION AND SCALE.
You basically created a slide show with one picture.
Step #7: Save the file as a .mov file. Place this .mov file into SUPER and encode it with FPS at 5 and resolution at 320:240 with the extension .3g2.
Step #8: Send it to your DCIM folder and when you choose a ringer, it should be found in MY ALBUM.
I have done this and it works just fine. Seems like a lot of work, but it gets fast once you get the hang of it. |
Its about 3:30 am
Downloading "SUPER" is a bit confusing at this time of morning.

okay so i did what was said to do with the windows movie maker and all that, i use the super and i convert in to a .3g2 file and what not,,,,, i put it in folder "my album" in my DCIM memory card place. i go to it. and in this case im trying to get the ring tone "me so horney" lol and i dont have an option to make it a ringtone. when i go to ringers in the menu of the phone and go down to #4 caller ring tunes it says "this feature is not supported" i dont know if that has anything to do with it. also when i go to settings>sounds>ringers>voice calls> caller ID i have no option of looking at the folder "my album" that i have the "me so horney" ring tones in?
thanks so much in advance, i know i sound retarded. i probably am

Did you make sure that the clip was under 30sec. and also it may be a problem w/ the way it was encoded
