1st post, Looking for a little help.

I bought a brand new V3 online recently. I've only had the phone for 2 days and it already crapped out on me. The phone wont power on but the keypad blinks on and off in 1 second (on) and 2 second (off) intervals. The screen is completely blank. I tried taking out the battery and letting it sit for a few hours but no luck with that. Just kept on doing it.

It happened when I recieved a text from my father. I went to open it and when I did, the phone just completely shut off on me and now I'm left with this problem. I didn't mod it in anyway so I have no idea what could be the problem. Any ideas on what it could be or what I can do to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I'm thinking of returning it but I got a pretty good deal on it and really don't want to. It's a really nice phone (for the time that I had it). I guess i'm willing to do what it takes to get it fixed.

Remove the battery then reconnect it. Plug the phone into the charger and leave it for at least 2 or 3 hours before trying to turn the phone on

Alright, I'm going to try that out now.

I'll be back in'a few hours with the results.

What I didn't note before is that the phone hasn't been damaged physically and hasn't suffered any water damage. It's been close to me the past few days. I use my phone often. I also want to note that I took my sim out and put it back in my old phone and ALL of my numbers were lost except for my Dad's (Ironically). WTF!? I've managed to salvage most of the important ones.

Edit: Just want to note that when I plugged the charger into the phone, the keypad was lighting up on and off again in the same sequence it was before. The phone was powered off when I plugged it in.

Update: Been almost 3 hours and it's still doing the same thing. Any suggestions? Is there any information I can include in to helping find out what's wrong with my phone? I'm also getting my USB cable possibly tomorrow in the mail.

I'm becoming hopeless. icon_sad.gif

I was hoping the battery was very flat - that does happen at times and you just have to leave it on charge for long enough

Can you start in bootloader (hold * and # while turning power on)?

Yes, I can start the bootloader. What can I do from there?

Well that suggests its not hardware problem. Seems odd the phone was working ok for a few days though if its software.

What does it display in bootloader?

Next step would be to flash a monsterpack.

However this WILL invalidate any warranty you have so if you are not sure try and return it

If the problem is software then this should fix it, however it would be strange for a software problem to develop after 2 days. On the other hand the hardware seems to work ok.

If you want to flash you will need to use google to find a program called RSD Lite 3.8

There is a monsterpack at http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=3547

Thank you. Much appreciated.

I'm in the process of trying to return it now. Waiting on an Email. If that doesn't work out for whatever reason, I'll definitely flash the phone because I don't see any other option on getting this thing up and running. But if this doesn't work out, any other idea what it could be?

And I'm new at this, so bare with me. Is there a step-by-step on how to flash a monsterpack to the phone?
