go to the downloads page . get the flash files, make sure its the right firmware, and the w810i drivers. Install the drivers before you do anything, otherwise the client won't work. They have a very good step by step walk through on their site.

I just got Sony Ericsson Update Software v. 2.6.4.9 As far as I know that one should connect to the support site and update my phone through the USB cable. Is this the same as Davinci?

the sony update software will only update the existing firmware. if you want to change it back to where you can use 850 you have to replace the firmware with a different version.

lordy thats heavy thrid party stuff if you damage too much think the carrier wont be too too concerned with your problems. did you try something safer and more basic like updating the device on w w w dot sonyericsson dot c o m? the operation thingy where it needs to master reset to update the software
