can someone tell me how can i access the mem card in my pearl? i tried a lot things, but i still can't access it, as i got pix from my old phone and ring tones

you should be able to go into the media icon on the home screen. if it's input properly, you should see a media card option along with device memory and preloaded media. do see that, or just can't see your files?

what type of files are they? what format?
make sure that mass storage mode is off.

they're pictures from an old phone, samsung t809 and motorola v3x and some mp3 files
and how would i turn off the mass storage?

go to settings > options > advanced option > media card.
make sure mass storage mode is off.

i just turned it off, but i still cant acces my pictures and songs on my sd memory card

You have to have all the files under "Blackberry" folder for the pearl to display them in the Media section.
Also, you can add custom MP3 ringtones, only if you save those MP3s in a folder "Blackberry/Ringtones"
it doesnt recognize any files outside "Blackberry" folder in the media card.
stupid pearl!
