I gotta say, I never thought I'd make a post like this, but.

It appears that for the last couple of weeks, the Cingular/AT&T service in out area has deteriorated to a pretty sad state. I, as well as many friends and associates have been experiencing dropped call several times a day as well as an odd phenomenon. In our area, we have many towers, even in the rural areas. I can be carrying on a conversation and suddenly, I hear my own voice in my earpiece, but not the person on the other end. After this goes on for a few seconds, the call drops altogether. Quite the maddening experience, I assure you. All the while, the phones show full to nearly full signals

I don't know if it's because of the name change, whic make no sense, really. Actually, I don't give a shit WHY it's happening. I'd just like it remedied. I've made teh obligatory calls into customer service and of course, they want to disect the phones I have 3 Razrs and I've been through all of them to troubleshoot this issue. It's not the phones.

Hopefully, they will figure this out in short order. I know that good service can be had, I've had it for years until lately

is this happening everywqhere or in one area?


if you drive say 15-20 moiles away is the result the same?


did any of the reps submit a case for you? if not tell them to.

Actually, Elmo, it DOES appear to be in the area of our shop, which is around 4 miles from a really tall tower. I live 18 miles away and it just so happens that these last several days, I've mostly been on the phone at the shop, and not much at home. and the folks that are having the same problems are my shop compadres. I spent most of today in the city, which is 20 miles away from the shop. I had good service around town, but had difficulty calling the guys at the shop.

I didn't think to ask for a case to be submitted when I spoke with a rep, but I will do so Monday.
