My KRZR has been acting very strange lately. It's about 6 months old. This past Saturday, it began to freeze and reset itself every 2-3 minutes. Before it would freeze, it would sometimes say NO SERVICE. It's been on a constant cycle ever since. I've been in areas with limited service and areas known to have full digital service and I see no change. It also won't notify me of new messages for at least a day, and I'm not even sure if people are calling me/leaving voice mails.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Random freezing and "Resetting"? Random lack of service?
I can't even get a text message out before it freezes up.
The interesting thing is, if I catch it when it's not frozen, I can make a call and stay on the phone.
I also seem to have a low battery sooner than normal.
Also, do KRZR's have sim cards? If I have to part with the phone, I'll have to copy down all my contacts won't I?
HELP!

If you are with Verizon its a K1m not a K1. CDMA provider don't have SIM cards so yes you would need to find a different way to transfer them.
Has the phone got wet at all? If not try backeeling it to Verizon

interestingly enough, my phone returned to normal as i pulled up to a verizon store. kinda creepy actually.
one thing i forgot to mention was that it kept notifying me that i had a picture message and to hit ok, so i would, and nothing would happen. i never received that mystery message but i have a feeling it was the cause of me locking up.
i guess it really doesnt warrant a response anymore, but if anyone has ever encountered this situation and found out what was wrong, i'd be curious to know incase it happens again.

I just had to reply because I had the same exact problem with my Krzr. It happened a week after getting a software update for different issues.
My phone was on the same constant cycle and didn't stop. I also kept saying I had picture messages, but when I hit ok- nothing happened.
Luckily I got a replacement!

This is the exact reason I found this message board - to see if anyone else had this problem. Mine started acting strange today. It keeps telling me (while I'm on the phone) that it has a picture message, but nothing is there. It also is stuck in this cycle of restarting over and over. My battery was dead in 4 hours today! My phone is 4 months old! I guess I should send it back. Also my phone has not been wet or anything. I'm not so sure I want another one though!

I'm having the same problem now, and so is my girlfriend. It freezes, and keeps going on and off. It also gives me this message saying a have a new picture message when nothing is there. Can anyone help? How did you get it replaced? Thanks in advance for the help

Ok so I had that same problem, so I went into the Verizon store and found a solution that actually works. Try erasing your text inbox and outbox all the way. This should help but you should also update the phone's software, so dial *228 and hit the call button. Follow the on phone directions to update. You can also bring it to a verizon store and they will do all that for you. Good luck!

A guy on another forum told me to try doing a "hard reboot" and it seems to have solved the problems--at least for the last few days, who knows how long it will keep going. The guy above is probably right, but if you're like me, your phone is freezing so much you can't get through erasing your texts. So try this first
With the phone still on take out the battery
Hold down the power button for 15-30 seconds
Put the battery back in
Turn on the phone
Didn't lose anything. Good luck to anyone who still needs help.
