Hello.
I have a problem.
I have 2(two)- 6102 phones. One I just bought because i cant see a thing on my old screen. I want to switch the sim card from the old to the new, BUT, my numbers have not yet been saved on my sim card of the old phone, and if i switch them, I'll lose it all.
Can anyone who owns a 6102, walk me through, pretending i'm a total "blind" man, to the point of reaching the "use phone and sim card" menu choice, so that I can then save it and exchange the card from one phone to the other.
I know it will be a little time consuming for you to type out, step by step instructions for me to get to that point, starting at which button is the main menu button, though all the steps, and then to actually save it, but if you could I would certainly appreciate it very much!
Thanks a bunch!
Kevin

You have another phone, same menu. Turn old phone off, then on. Wait about 20 seconds to let phone set up standby page. Press down navigation key to bring up contact. Select options, copy, phone to sim, all, and keep original. Press copy and wait a couple of minutes to allow time to finish copying. Good luck.

Ok, on the old phone, I have no screen AT ALL. So, i dont really know where it is i'm navigating to, and the new phone only shows "Insert smartchip" on the screen.
When you state ".Press down navigation key to bring up contact. Select options, copy, phone to sim, all, and keep original. Press copy." I'm not real sure of where I am on the pad at all! Can you explain in a bit more detail please. I'm completly lost. I do think i know what you mean when you say "Press down navigation key to bring up contact". That would be the bottom part of the square in the center, in between the green(call) and red(end call) buttons that I used to take me to my phone numbers, correct? But after that I'm kinda lost. I wonder if we can do this with pictures or something. Whatever works! Thanks a million and I'll do something to return the favor one day for your help, promise!

Ok! My phone is an i but this part of the menu should be the same. You can check by putting your old sim in your new phone to make sure the results are the same. Then swap back to do the copy. Center navigation key (cnk) is the button in the middle. Down nav key (dnk) you know. Top left soft key (lsk) is above send button. Turn phone off. Turn phone on. Wait about 20 seconds to allow standby page to set up. Press dnk 1 time to bring up contact. Press lsk 1 time for options. Press dnk 4 times for copy. Press cnk 2 times for select and select phone to sim. Press dnk 1 time for all. Press cnk 2 times to select all, select keep original. Press lsk to start copy. Wait a couple of minutes to allow copying to finish. When you put your sim in the new phone, do the same thing except use sim to phone. Make sure to select keep original. You'll still have to rearrange your phone book and call everybody to get addresses. Sim card only stores phone numbers and each number as a separate entry. But it beats no numbers. Hope this helps. Again, good luck.

Glad I could help. Just do a copy from sim to phone, making sure to select keep original. I use my phone (only) memory on a daily basis and copy new contacts to the sim when I get them. The phone memory can store all the phone numbers under a single contact name and you can add addresses, notes, etc. that the sim won't accept. It's a hassle to edit the numbers into a single contact list but it's a whole lot easier later on. You'll also need to change number type (home, mobile, work) and set which is primary number. The sim just stores them all as general numbers. I just did this to a "just in case something happens to my phone" spare phone. Glad I finally finished. Again, good luck. And thanks for the reply.
