I bought an E50 in June, and noticed that with minimal usage (a few calls and texts) the battery was draining in about 48 hours. To be clear, this is without playing any games, using the camera or music player, etc. I emailed Nokia support and got a kind of non-definitive answer that essentially said to bring it in to where I bought it, which was the Nokia brand store. They first gave me a new battery, which made no difference, and now they have given me a new handset which has drained in about 24 hours under same usage conditions as above. Has anyone else experienced this? Apparently under the waranty they can only replace the handset once, which they have done to no benefit (in fact, it's made things worse) so either there is something I don't know or the long battery life of several days described by Nokia and various reviewers is fictitious. What am I doing wrong?

to follow up.
Ok so I went back to the Nokia brand store today and was told the following:
-48 hours is 'good' battery life for this phone even if just making one or two calls and sms, the longer time quoted in marketing materials and reviews is 'without touching any buttons' and for 'clinical lab environment'
-the battery meter is 'inaccurate,' which is the explanation they gave when they found that while my phone was showing 3 bars of power (50%), the battery was supposedly 'overcharged' (>100%)
-the phone should be charged for 6 hours a night but not beyond when it indicates 'battery full' which in my case is happening after about 2 hours (which is obviously well less than 6)
-taking the phone on the NYC subway 'drains the battery life' because it's 'looking for a signal' (i have had 3 other phones that did not have this issue, and i ride the subway maybe twice a week for a total of 30 minues which is much less than the average NYC commuter - if this is true nobody in NYC would buy this phone)
-the only way to get more than 2 days of battery life out of an E50 is 'not to use the phone'
-the staff of the fancy Nokia brand store here are 'just sales associates' so no one there is qualified to diagnose the problem further
Anyone have any comments or input on the accuracy of these statements?

I can only agree to one of the above points: trying to find signal is draining more power. However, 1-2 day of battery life is not good. Something is wrong with the phone.
I found this site about extending E50's battery life from Google:

Another thing, have you tried upgrading the phone's software? Not sure if E50 has this feature though.
